Mikel Arteta needs a win against Everton to keep Arsenal's title hopes alive
Arsenal will look to return to winning ways against Everton this afternoon as their Premier League title hopes hang by a thread.
The Gunners are now third in the Premier League after their slip-up against Fulham last weekend, with a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage meaning Liverpool are still six points ahead with a game in hand.
Any points dropped against the Toffees at the Emirates Stadium would leave Mikel Arteta’s men with a big deficit to overturn as we approach the midway point of the season. After a torrid start to their own campaign, Sean Dyche’s side were able to seal an emphatic 4-0 win over Wolves last Wednesday, before the Merseyside Derby was postponed due to Storm Darragh.
Everton will hope to break into the mid-table pack with another result at Arsenal, but it will be a huge ask given that they have only won once in 19 Premier League visits to the Emirates. And despite the huge interest in both clubs, fans in the UK will be unable to watch the fixture on TV.

Why isn’t Arsenal vs Everton on TV?
With Arsenal vs Everton not being picked for coverage by any UK broadcasters, the fixture will be played at the usual Saturday afternoon kick-off time of 3pm. There has been a blackout on all English football matches between 2.45pm and 5.15pm since the 1960s, when the TV became a regular household appliance, as clubs feared that showing the fixtures would reduce match-day stadium attendances.
Despite its unpopularity among some supporters, the 3pm rule remains in place, allowing leagues to designate a closed window for broadcasting. That means fans have to keep track through other means such as radio, goals shows and social media.
There will be no early kick-off on Saturday either, with two Premier League fixtures - Southampton vs Tottenham and Chelsea vs Brentford - instead being played on Sunday at the unusual time of 7pm. That is due to Chelsea and Spurs’ European football commitments on Thursday.

How to watch Arsenal vs Everton
For those wishing to watch outside of the UK, the match will be shown via local Premier League TV rights holders. Sky Sports Germany will air the match, for example, on Sky Sport Mix.
France’s Canal+ and beIN Sports in the Middle-East will also broadcast the fixture. In the United States, NBCUniversal have the rights to all 380 games in the Premier League this season, so fans across the pond can tune in.
However, fans in the UK will have to wait until highlights are made available by Sky Sports shortly after the full-time whistle. Match of the Day, which airs at 10:30pm, will also have extended highlights on BBC One.
