Speaking ahead of his side’s Premier League encounter against Liverpool, Fulham boss Marco Silva heaped praises on his first-choice left-back Antonee Robinson, who is also incidentally admired by the Reds.

“He’s a great athlete and is capable of going up and down, but first of all, he’s a defender and should defend well.

“Big improvements from him over the last two seasons in that aspect of the game as everybody recognises him as a great athlete. His decision-making is improving and I can see him as one of the best in the league.”

Under the Portuguese coach, the 27-year-old US international has emerged as one of the most foremost fullbacks in the league.

Now in his fifth season at Craven Cottage, Robinson came through the ranks at Everton, but he never made a senior appearance for them.

The Cottagers like expected to accept a bid in the region of £35 million for Robinson, whose contract at the club runs until June 2028.

TKT Opinion

Back in his Wigan days, Robinson was being pursued by AC Milan. This is a player who, despite haven’t played for a big-name club despite being 27, has been admired by them for a while.

Liverpool have a slot at left-back right there for the taking. Konstantinos Tsimikas and Andy Robertson are sharing that spot between themselves for now, but it’s apparent a long-term solution is needed. Robinson may not be a player that could hold that position down for a decade for them, but he definitely is an operator that could the Reds’ worries in the short-to-mid term.
