Arsenal are always in the market when it comes to acquiring young talent from all over the world. As per reports from Brazilian outlet Trivela, the Gunners’ search for talent has taken them to the Corinthians this time around. The report adds that they are interested in signing 19-year-old midfield sensation Breno Bidon, with Premier League rivals Fulham also monitoring the player.
Having made recruitments in the form of starters in Declan Rice and Mikel Merino over the last two summers, Mikel Arteta will now look to add strength in depth to the existing squad. As Martin Odegaard’s recent ankle injury showed, the Gunners need adequate cover that can bridge the gap if and when a starter gets injured.
This is where Arsenal are hoping Bidon could fill in. The teenager has been a crucial part of Corinthians’ sides over the last few years and has also represented his nation at the junior levels. However, with Fulham also interested, it will not be easy to sign the player as the Cottagers can arguably offer him more game time.

Born in 2005, Bidon came through the ranks at three youth clubs before making his senior debut. He started off as a junior with Portuguesa in 2011, before joining Osasco Audax in 2017 for one year. The following year, Corinthians came calling and Breno Bidon made the switch in 2019.
He spent five years training with and representing various age groups in the club’s academy, before making his senior debut earlier this calendar year. An agile player with a good eye for a pass, Bidon quickly made an impact and has since made 44 appearances for Corinthians’ senior team, scoring one goal and providing one assist as well.
His quick rise to the top and his potential have attracted plenty suitors from Europe, with Arsenal being one of them. The Gunners already have exciting prospects Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly in their first team squad, with both players featuring regularly off the bench. The club’s current approach is highly-catered towards young players and this could be a big factor in luring Breno Bidon to the Emirates Stadium.
