Everton are likely to make moves in the January transfer window with The Friedkin Group set to take charge, according to Alan Myers.
The Sky Sports news editor claims that the focus will be on quality rather than quantity but does expect there to be transfers made.
This comes after the Premier League have given the Americans the approval to complete the Toffees takeover.
Myers wrote on X: “I would think there will be some movement, I don’t think anything big but it will be about the quality rather than quantity.”
Everton may look to strengthen two areas in the January transfer window
The Toffees’ backline needs urgent attention following their recent performances, which have highlighted vulnerabilities at the back.
MORE TOFFEES STORIES
With The Friedkin Group set to take charge, this January transfer window presents a critical opportunity for the club to bolster their squad, particularly in defence.
Improving defensive solidity could significantly alter Everton’s fortunes in the Premier League, turning potential draws or losses into wins.
Additionally, considering Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s contract situation, if there’s no extension in sight, the Toffees should consider selling him.
The rationale is to avoid him leaving on a free transfer, which would represent a significant financial loss and to then reinvest in a new striker who can offer both reliability and goal-scoring prowess.
It’s important to make these decisions soon as there’s not long left before the window opens.
In other Everton news, The Friedkin Group are seriously considering bringing in a controversial figure to the club as part of their backroom restructuring.
