Thomas Tuchel is all set to take over as England manager come 2025 and the German manager recently revealed to the media that he would facilitate Ben White’s return to the Three Lions’ squad. Speaking about the Arsenal defender’s chances of returning to the squad after his rift with former boss Gareth Southgate, Tuchel seemed crystal clear. He said,
“Yes, I will reach out to him (Ben White). It should be a clean start and a clear narrative. It starts from January.”
Tuchel’s words will come as a pleasant surprise for Ben White, who has not made an appearance for England for several months now. He has been a crucial member of the Arsenal squad, though, and when fit, remains one of the first names on the team sheet for Mikel Arteta.
White’s exclusion first came about during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar where the player was displeased with Southgate and his staff’s approach to training, and also his own lack of involvement in games. He has been behind the likes of Kyle Walker and Trent Alexander-Arnold in the England pecking order despite performing at a high level for the Gunners.

Thomas Tuchel has been renowned for playing a three-at-the-back formation for most of his clubs that he has managed. Should he choose to do the same in England, he will benefit with having a player like Ben White under his tutelage.
White could form a back three alongside John Stones and Levi Colwill, with Trent Alexander-Arnold operating as the right wing-back. Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice will man the midfield, with Luke Shaw or Lewis Hall out on the left flank.
Bukayo Saka and Cole Palmer will play up front in the wide positions, while the central striker role will be taken up by either Harry Kane or Ollie Watkins.
