Premier League rivals keen to sign 21-year-old Chelsea star

21-year-old Malo Gusto has gone on to impress ever since joining Chelsea. The full back would join the Blues in 2023. As per wikipedia, the London-based club ended up paying around €35 million (including bonuses) for him. With the youngster doing so good, top clubs are keen on signing him. In fact, two of Premier League giants have taken an interest in signing him. Liverpooland Man City are aiming to lure the Frenchman away. It will be interesting to see if the Blues would actually consider an offer for the full back. Especially considering the fact how much of an integral part he has become in their lineup.

Liverpool and Man City lurking

Both PL giants are keen on signing the 21-year-old defender. It does not come as much of a surprise. As for the Reds, Trent Alexander-Arnold could be leaving on a free transfer. Real Madrid have their eyes set on the right-back. As for Man City, Kyle Walker is ageing. So, they need a good replacement. Chelsea star Malo Gusto satisfies the criteria for both the clubs. Moreover, he is no stranger to the intensity of the Premier League. So signing him makes perfect sense. Although whether a move would actually happen is still quite doubtful.

Should Chelsea sell Malo Gusto?

Selling the Frenchman will make things quite difficult for the Blues. For starters, the 21-year-old is capable of playing on both flanks of the field. At the same time, club captain Reece James is quite injury prone. Chelsea already have a quality replacement in Malo Gusto for him. Selling the full back will make them short-handed at the back. Moreover, selling him to league rivals could end up costing them in the long run even more. Even the fans wouldn’t want the 21-year-old leaving the club so soon.
