Everton's new stadium suggested for specific England national team fixture as 2025 date is…

Everton fans may well be disappointed with the start their side has made to the campaign, but there is now plenty to look forward to.

It is all change for Everton over the coming months with Sean Dyche’s side seeing some major upgrades away from the pitch.

The new Everton owners could be in place by next week with The Friedkin Group having been handed Premier League approval.

But that is not the only significant change happening on Merseyside with Everton also set to move into their new stadium over the coming months.

Jamie Carragher is excited by the new Everton stadium and what it could bring for the people of Liverpool.

And it seems as if there could already be one major event being lined up to be hosted there next year.

Everton’s new stadium tipped to host England World Cup Qualifier

And journalist Ian Ladyman has suggested the new Everton stadium could play host to their game in September 2025 against Andorra.

England will play Andorra on 6 September which means Wembley Stadium is unlikely to host the game due to Coldplay concerts going on around that date.

The Friedkin Group already want to develop Bramley-Moore Dock and hosting events like this could provide significant funds for the club.

But with Everton only set to move in during the summer, there may be questions as to whether this may come just too soon for the Toffees.

Have England played at Goodison Park before?

This would not be the first time England would have played at Everton’s stadium with the Three Lions playing there back in 1949.

However, there have only been two occasions when Goodison Park has hosted England:

1973 – Northern Ireland 1-2 England

1949 – England 0-2 Republic of Ireland

1895 – England 3-0 Scotland

It has been suggested the Friedkins were really interested in Everton’s new stadium and that was key to their interest in buying the club.

The new home of Everton is going to prove a big boost to the club’s finances and Tottenham Hotspur have already shown what hosting outside events can do to the club’s revenue stream.
