Lionel Messi has thanked Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham after the Manchester United legend sent him a unique pair of Adidas Predator boots.
Messi is currently preparing for the new MLS season, which is due to get underway next year, and Inter Miami are hoping to challenge for the title under new boss Javier Mascherano. And Messi could be wearing some special new boots next season thanks to Beckham.
The former England captain wore Adidas boots throughout his career and is synonymous with the iconic Predators. As a result, a special pair of the boots co-designed by Beckham have been released to mark their 30th anniversary and a pair were gifted to Messi.
Messi shared a picture of the boots on his Instagram story, writing: "I already have them at home!! Thanks @DavidBeckham". Inter Miami won the Eastern Conference last season, but crashed out of the playoffs in round one to Atalanta United.

The club are now ready to spend big in the transfer window to strengthen their squad, with Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne their top target. De Bruyne's contract is due to expire at the end of the season and he will be free to talk to non-English clubs in January.
Inter Miami's co-owner Jorge Mas has already declared that the club will have an unlimited budget to spend on new signings, having sold midfielder Diego Gomez to Brighton earlier this month for a club-record fee.
"We are going to use every single roster mechanism given to us by the league to build the best roster we can to compete in 2025, knowing we will compete in multiple competitions such as Concacaf Champions League, Club World Cup, Leagues Cup," Mas said.

"There is pressure here to win, and that pressure is going to continue. We expect it of ourselves, our coaches and players... There are roster decisions being made, a little too prematurely than we expected...
"We are going to continue having the best team we can, there are no budget limitations. We are going to bring the best players we can from anywhere in the world, and we will continue winning and building this club to be a premier football team."
