Kylian Mbappé (25) once again won **France Football’s** French Footballer of the Season award for the 2023/24 campaign, however, he did not run away with it, as he did in the previous season.
The France captain won the award in his seventh and final season at Paris Saint-Germain, a season in which he netted 52 goals as he drove his side towards a third consecutive Ligue 1 title, a Coupe de France title, and a run to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
Mbappé therefore earned 56 points in the vote, five more than second-placed William Saliba (23). The former AS Saint-Étienne and Olympique de Marseille centre-back enjoyed a stellar campaign, featuring in the Premier League Team of the Season as the Gunners ran Manchester City close for the title. It was also a year in which Saliba cemented a position as a regular starter for the France national team.
_“You have to be fair, William Saliba would also have deserved to win this trophy,”_ Mbappé told [**France Football**](https://www.lequipe.fr/France-Football/Article/Kylian-mbappe-william-saliba-lui-aussi-aurait-merite-ce-trophee/1525770), paying tribute to his international teammate.
