Tottenham and Wolves 'plot' transfer raid for Leeds United ace as new contract claim emerges

Multiple Premier League clubs are thought to be tracking Leeds United star Pascal Struijk ahead of the January transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton and Hove Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers are all keeping tabs on the centre-back, according to TBR Football. Spurs are said to be keen on bringing in a left-sided centre-back and do have a strong relationship with United, having captured Archie Gray in a £40m deal last summer. Joe Rodon headed the opposite way and Manor Solomon also joined United later on loan in the window.

The report states that the Whites are trying to tie the Dutch defender down to a new contract but negotiations could hinge on the club securing promotion to the Premier League next year. In the absence of Ethan Ampadu, Struijk has worn the captain's armband.

The 25-year-old has started every Championship match during the 2024/25 season. His partnership at centre-back with Rodon has been crucial to their season as United boast one of the strongest defensive records in the division.

Speaking after United's recent victory over promotion rivals Middlesbrough, former Whites boss Neil Redfearn said: "I really like Pascal Struijk and I’ve said it two or three times on air before that there were some tough lessons learned in the Premier League.

“Some of the players came out better for it and I think he’s definitely learned from that. He looks head and shoulders above most centre-backs at this level and he was outstanding again tonight.”
