The city of Liverpool was denied the Merseyside Derby last weekend with the health and safety of all taking priority.
A final meeting between Everton and Liverpool at Goodison Park will have to be played another time with Storm Darragh postponing the Merseyside Derby.
This has provided Sean Dyche’s side with some extra time to recover and prepare for Saturday’s game against Arsenal.
It has now been suggested the Merseyside Derby will be played in February with Tuesday, 11 February opening up as a likely date.
The final meeting between these sides will mark the end of an era at Goodison with two players who’ve played there many times – Jamie Carragher and Peter Reid – spotted together on Friday.

Jamie Carragher shares social media post with Everton legend Peter Reid
Carragher has criticised Everton’s Ashley Young in recent weeks for his poor display in the defeat against Southampton.
But the former defender does also sing the praises of the club when they do something right having grown up an Everton fan.
On Friday night, Carragher posted on social media an image of him and Reid out in the city of Liverpool.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
The former Liverpool defender captioned the post with a very simple, three-word message: ‘What a night’.
Reid spent seven years at Goodison having racked up 235 appearances for Everton over the years.
The 68-year-old achieved a lot during his time with the Toffees, and Carragher clearly has a lot of respect for the Everton legend.
Perhaps his former Everton fan is beginning to show again with Carragher excited for the new Everton stadium and what that will provide for the city.
What Jamie Carragher said about supporting Everton
He isn’t the first and he won’t be the last Everton fan to turn into a Liverpool fan after playing for the Reds.
There are plenty of examples with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Steven Gerrard also photographed in Everton gear as youngsters.
Carragher claimed Wayne Rooney wasn’t an Everton legend but he has also admitted he remained an Everton fan well into his career at Liverpool.
“I was in the Liverpool first-team [when I stopped supporting Everton]. I was still an Everton fan when I was playing in the youth team,” said Carragher.

With Carragher also hailing Neville Southall as the best goalkeeper ever, it is clear that the Liverpool defender still has a lot of time for the blue side of the city.
