Young defender Harry McGlinchey has signed his first professional contract with CHELSEA, the Blues have announced on the club website this week after the young man impressed the coaches at Stamford Bridge.
The club posted on the club website: ‘McGlinchey joined the Blues during his Under-14s season, after a spell at Plymouth Argyle, and made his debut for our Under-18s away at Arsenal in the latter stages of the 2023/24 campaign, while still a schoolboy.
‘Since signing his scholarship in July, the defender has been enjoying his first full season under head coach Hassan Sulaiman. He has made eight appearances for the Under-18s across all competitions so far this season, as well as featuring in Under-17 Premier League Cup fixtures.
‘In addition to his CHELSEA commitments, McGlinchey has regularly represented the Republic of Ireland Under-18s on international duty since the start of 2024/25, and was named the country’s Men’s Under-17 International Player of the Year last month.
‘Congratulations Harry!’

It is a massive thing for young players to sign their first professionals contract and now he will need to work hard in order to maybe break into that side over the next few seasons.
But we are delighted to see that one of the most exciting talents in the academy has been signed up to a deal.
