According to emerging reports, Leicester City Football Club are already testing the water of the transfer market ahead of its January opening. And the Foxes have possibly done more than just extensive scouting and selecting suitable targets, if we trust the latest assertions doing the rounds.
In fact, King Power boss Ruud van Nistelrooy has supposedly chosen the first signing he would like to add to his squad. In addition to that intriguing element, it is claimed that LCFC have actually made a bid for their wanted man. So, who is this potential Leicester acquisition? Is he a particularly highly rated player? What are the ins and outs? And is a deal likely to be agreed between the two clubs and athlete? Let's find out.
But before we move onto that seemingly important transfer rumour, there is a more pressing matter at hand. City are up in the north East at present due to the reasonably daunting task of playing Newcastle United at St James' Park.
Facing the Magpies is usually more troublesome than it is right now. You see NUFC are in a bit of trouble, similarly to LCFC. The Geordies aren't performing as they should be under Eddie Howe. They aren't relegation fodder at all - but they've regressed massively.
Therefore the equally, if not further, troubled Leicester should strike quick and fast with all their strength. Shutting up shop with any lead is probably the east Midlanders' aim for the fixture.
Leicester are reportedly actively seeking new recruits before the New Year is even upon us. They have apparently 'made their first move' by making an offer for a youthful midfielder prospect. And City may have an 'advantage' thanks to Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha owning OH Leuven:
"While Leicester have no doubt already improved under Van Nistelrooy, the Dutchman will want to bring in reinforcements in the January transfer window. One of those is Leuven midfielder Ezechiel Banzuzi, who, according to Voetbal International, the Foxes have already made a 'big offer' for ahead of the New Year.
Brighton, as well as an unnamed Ligue 1 club, are also interested in the 19-year-old Dutchman, claims Voetbal, but Leicester could have the advantage because they are and Leuven are owned by the same man, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha.
Leuven are understood to be holding out for £12.4 million for Banzuzi, who joined the club last summer from NAC Breda."
