For FC Barcelona, next up is a visit from Leganes at the Montjuic Stadium for their upcoming La Liga clash. At the moment, the Catalan giants have a slight lead at the top of the league table but it is not a secure one. If Real Madrid win their game in hand, Barcelona would come down to second place.
However, Los Blancos would only be able to secure a one-point lead at the top of the La Liga table and there is still a long season left to play. From that perspective, the Catalan giants do not need to panic in any way and continue to just ensure that they win their own games.
Fortunately for Hansi Flick, however, he will have more of his best players available for action in these upcoming games. Ahead of the previous encounter against Borussia Dortmund, for instance, Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo had already received the medical green light.
Now, ahead of the game against Leganes, the Barcelona coach has stated in his official press conference that the defender will indeed end up playing at one point or another:
“At the moment, I cannot say if he starts, but the plan is that he will play some minutes. For how long? We will have to see what we desire from the starting eleven at the beginning and maybe he’s in but if not, the plan is that he will play (as a substitute).”
This will be massively great news for Barcelona and especially for Hansi Flick. There have been moments where his team’s defenders have possibly lost concentration and focus, which has led to some unwanted goals being conceded by the Catalan giants.

Araujo, on the other hand, brings a lot more intensity and physicality to the team compared to the likes of Pau Cubarsi or Inigo Martinez. While it is not guaranteed if the €70 million-rated defender will start against Leganes or not, the assurance that he will still feature is a positive one.
