The agent of Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio has claimed that the player turned down a move to Liverpool over the summer.
Di Gregorio's impressive form for Monza in recent seasons seemingly prompted interest from a host of top clubs, and the 27-year-old ended up joining Juventus on a loan deal earlier this year, with the Turin club obligated to make the move permanent in 2025.
The Italian was immediately installed as Juventus' first-choice stopper by new manager Thiago Motta, and he kept a clean sheet on Wednesday night as Juve registered a 2-0 victory over Manchester City in the Champions League.
Di Gregorio has conceded just 10 goals in 15 appearances for Juve, keeping nine clean sheets, and the player's agent, Carlo Alberto Belloni, spoke about Liverpool's supposed interest after Juve's game against City.
“Surely, Manchester City fans will remember his saves for a long time,” the goalkeeper’s agent told Tuttosport. “We said no to Liverpool in the summer to join the Juventus project.
“He’s working hard to improve continuously. He set up a gym at home so he can train on his days off. He has an incredible mentality, and his desire is to be part of a Juventus side that rewrites history and wins important trophies.”
Liverpool's goalkeeper situation has been a hot topic this year, with Alisson and Caoimhin Kelleher both playing a significant number of games under Arne Slot.

Slot has always maintained that Alisson is his first-choice 'keeper, but the Brazilian has missed over a dozen games since the start of the campaign due to injury.
Kelleher deputized brilliantly but Alisson displayed fine form upon his return to the team in the Champions League victory over Girona in midweek.
Alisson has stated his intention to at least see out his current Liverpool contract, which runs until 2027, which could see Kelleher leave the club at the end of the season considering the Reds are also due to welcome Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia in time for the 2025-26 campaign.
