Chelseawill be facing Brentford in the game week 16 of the Premier League. The Blues are coming at the back of a big win against Tottenham Hotspur. So the morale will be high in the dressing room after the big London derby victory. Although even the Bees managed to beat Leicester City last time out. At the same time, they are quite a competitive team too. They have managed to keep themselves in the top half of the Premier League table. It may look like a straight forward fixture on paper. But, as it stands, it is far from it. The Blues will have to keep their guard on or else there is a real chance they might let it slip away.
Chelsea vs Brentford: What do the stats say?
In their five previous meetings, the Bees have managed to stay unbeaten. They were able to win thrice and draw twice. In fact, the last time Chelsea won against Brentford was all the way back in 2021 in an EFL Cup tie. In their last five meetings the Blues have gone on to concede 10 times and score merely 3 goals. So pressure will be high upon Enzo Maresca to get a result. Hopefully, the Blues will be able to break their losing streak at home.
Players to watch out for
As for the Blues, Cole Palmer will be the obvious danger man. He has managed to build upon his sensational run of form from last season. Then, Nicolas Jackson has also managed to stay fairly consistent this season. As per transfermarkt, he has 11 G/A in 15 outings this campaign. As for the Bees, Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo are the danger men. They also have a habit of scoring really early on. As a result, Chelsea will have to stay switched-on against Brentford right from the very beginning. Any lapse in concentration could prove very heavy for them.
