Raheem Sterling continues to struggle at Arsenal
Mikel Arteta has said that he hasn't found the right time to play Raheem Sterling at Arsenal after he arrived from Chelsea on loan for the season. The manager added that he wants to see Sterling play but and wants to see the winger impacting games.
The winger has struggles for minutes. Arteta said that the fault is not of the player but that it's the manager's decision with the starting XI and substitutions:
“There’s been moments. It’s been tough and very difficult for me as well to accept that I haven’t given him more. When he hasn’t started the games, 90 per cent of the subs that I make is related to saving minutes or because of injuries or avoiding injuries. It’s not tactical reasons.

“I would like him to play much more as I think he can impact the team in a very good way. He’s very good in the dressing room and is absolutely desperate to play. He had this very important role, impacting every game, and suddenly you are in this position for a while. Not just here but at Chelsea as well. So it’s always very difficult, and I feel a lot of sympathy for players when they are in this moment. Hopefully, we can change it.”
Raheem Sterling joined Arsenal on loan on deadline day but has not managed tmuch. He has played 356 minutes across competitions, scoring once and assisting twice.
Raheem Sterling joining Arsenal termed worst signing of the summer
Steve Nicol has blasted Arsenal and Raheem Sterling, as the winger has struggled to get into the starting XI. He believes that the move is the worst transfer of the summer, and Sterling has done nothing to get minutes, saying on ESPN:
"What’s he done? He’s done zero! At the very least come on and give (Gabriel) Martinelli and (Bukayo) Saka a break and push the rest of the players to be better.
"All the reasons he was bought, use your experience, push the other two to be better, give them competition, and then when you do get a chance, make it count. He’s done nothing! Call me crazy, but if you sign someone and they do nothing, that is not good."
Raheem Sterling's entourage released a statement after he was left out of the Chelsea squad for their first match of the season. He was loaned out to Arsenal after new manager Enzo Maresca had made it clear that the former Manchester City and Liverpool star wasn't a part of his plans.
