Everton made the trip to the capital on Saturday afternoon but there was one first-team regular in Dwight McNeil who was missing.
Sean Dyche went into the game having told the media he had no fresh injury concerns in Thursday’s press conference.
However, there was one major absentee from the Everton starting XI in north London with McNeil missing out on the game.
Mikel Arteta claimed Everton had an advantage coming into the game against his side having had more days to rest.
But the McNeil news was certainly a huge disadvantage for the Toffees.

Dwight McNeil injury latest at Everton
The Englishman has been one of Everton’s top performers this season with Martin Keown praising McNeil’s set-piece quality.
However, the Toffees had to play without him on Saturday as Dyche provided an update on what kept him out of the game in the capital.
A knee injury has been diagnosed as the issue for the midfielder with the problem flaring up during the week.

“Unfortunately, he’s been carrying a bit of a knee [injury]. It’s nothing too serious, we don’t think, but it’s sort of flared up so he hasn’t made this one. We hope for better news next week,” said Dyche.
Everton fans will be hoping McNeil is not sidelined for too much time with some difficult games coming up.
There has been plenty of promising news this week at Everton with The Friedkin Group receiving Premier League approval, this is not the pre-game news fans will have wanted.
Jack Harrison has a huge chance to shine
Dyche suggested Harrison may regret his summer comments on providing double-digit goals and assists for the Toffees this season.
Now is the Everton winger’s chance to shine with McNeil potentially set for some time on the sidelines.
Everton will not be sending Harrison back to Leeds United in January but there is a lot more the winger needs to do if he is to earn a permanent move to Merseyside.
With the new owners set to be handed the keys, now would be the perfect time for Harrison to show just what he is capable of by getting his first goal contribution of the campaign.
