Arsenal were frustrated at home to Everton and failed to take advantage of title rivals Liverpool also dropping points. Sean Dyche’s side managing to hold the Gunners to a goalless draw.
Jordan Pickford was the player of the match in the first half, and the start of the second, denying the big chances for the Gunners and holding the title-chasing team at bay.
With it being a 3pm UK time kick-off, it meant that no British broadcasting companies could show the game live. Plenty therefore was hidden from supporters, but thankfully, **football.london** was in attendance to provide a glimpse into what was missed.
### Arteta claps Saka
We know that Arteta loves his players fighting hard for the team at both ends of the field. His "duel" speech in the Amazon: All or Nothing documentary went viral for a reason as the Spaniard tore into his players for not showing enough desire.
As Everton threatened to counterattack in the opening 20 minutes of the game, Vitalii Mykolenko was set clear by a cute piece of passing from the visitors but was stopped in his tracks by Bukayo Saka of all people. The winger had sprinted back and got a touch to the delight of his manager who, with hands aloft, vigorously applauded his talisman.
### Sent out early
With two minutes remaining of the half-time break, the Arsenal players emerged from the tunnel early. The half-time responsibilities on the big screen were still being gone through which indicated just how short Arteta’s team talk was.
Not only that but perhaps how pointed it might have been. The Spaniard is known for his emotive half-time deliveries and, perhaps with how quickly the players emerged, we can assume that was the case here.
### Hello!
As Arsenal continued to be frustrated by Everton, the time-wasting begun, with Jordan Pickford of course being the main culprit. He took to delaying kicks, booting the ball away and being booked for his troubles.
Mikel Arteta was clearly getting irritated by this and wanted the fourth officials attention but he had retreated back toward his chair. Unwilling to leave his technical area, Arteta was seen waving and shouting "Hello!" at Andrew Kitchen. In the end it was all in vein.
