Former Barca Atlètic head coach Rafael Márquez played an important role in the process which ultimately culminated in Marc Casadó establishing himself as a first-team regular.
That’s according to **[Diario Sport](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/mejor-consejo-rafa-marquez-hansi-flick-marc-casado-112601076)**, who have on Saturday provided an insight into the situation.
Casadó is for his part of course in the midst of a breakout campaign, having establised himself as one of the first names on the team sheet of new Barcelona boss Hansi Flick.
This comes with the 21-year-old having taken full advantage of an early-season injury crisis in the Blaugrana’s engine room, to showcase his impressive abilities on both sides of the ball.
And yet, as alluded to above, had it not been for the advice of a former manager, no such chance may have been coming the way of Casadó.
As per a report from Sport, ahead of taking up the reins in Catalunya’s capital during the summer, Hansi Flick made contact with Rafael Márquez – then boss of Barca Atlètic:
‘Flick wanted to know first-hand if there were any players from the reserve team with leadership skills and qualities to make the leap to the first team.’
And Márquez showed little hesitation in pointing towards one player above all others: Marc Casadó.
