Fans on X have called out Martin Odegaard following Arsenal's 0-0 draw against Everton at home in the Premier League on Saturday, December 14. He failed to create much in attack and missed a big chance in the 29th minute.

Despite Arsenal having 73% possession and seven-goal attempts in the first half, it ended 0-0. After the break, the Gunners remained the most likely side to open the scoring. However, they failed to find the back of the net despite having 80% of the ball. The Gunners also had six goal attempts during the second half, but they failed to find the back of the net.

In 62 minutes on the pitch, Odegaard had a passing accuracy of 88% (36/41). He lost possession 13 times and registered only 57 touches on the pitch. His inability to create chances in attack was a subject of discussion in the game's aftermath. Fans took to X to express their disappointment in the 25-year-old’s performance, with one posting:

"Odegaard is annoying to watch. I still think he’s not the right player profile to play further up the pitch in midfield. If you’re not starting Partey then you’d need a Kiwor to supply those long range passes #ARSEVE.''

Contract extension talks between Thomas Partey and the Gunners have hit a stalemate as they have struggled to find an agreement, as per The Mirror (via Caught Offside).

Partey joined the Gunners from Atletico Madrid for a reported €50 million in October 2020, and his five-year contract agreement expires next summer. Despite talks regarding an extension, an agreement is yet to be reached.

Currently, Partey could leave as a free agent in the summer, meaning Arsenal might not get a return on investment. This might prompt the Gunners to see him in the upcoming January transfer window.

Partey has been an excellent ball-winning midfielder since joining the north London side. In 136 games, he has scored seven and registered five assists. If the Gunners hierarchy decides to sell him, the proceeds from his potential sale could be used to facilitate the signing of a striker.
