Liverpool have some suspension issues to concern themselves with after a dramatic draw against Fulham on Saturday.
The Reds will definitely be without Andy Robertson for Wednesday’s visit to Southampton in the Carabao Cup, after the left-back was shown a straight red card against the Cottagers.
Joining him in missing the game will be Curtis Jones, who picked up a one-match suspension following an accumulation of yellow cards.
Happily, Alexis Mac Allister will finally be back having missed Tuesday’s Champions League game with Girona and Saturday’s match as well.
Finally, Arne Slot was himself given a one-game touchline ban after picking up another caution during the Fulham game at Anfield.
With some confusion over when the Liverpool head coach will serve his ban, journalist Lewis Steele has stepped in to clear things up.

Arne Slot set to miss Southampton clash
Although Slot comes across as a calm and composed manager, he can still let the referees have it if needs be.
The Liverpool boss obviously felt Saturday’s topsy-turvy game was once such occasion that justified giving referee Tony Harrington an earful.

But having been upset with the officiating on show against Fulham, Slot will now have to watch Liverpool’s next game from the stands.
Taking to X, Steele confirmed that this ban will be served out for the Reds’ Carabao Cup quarter-final with Southampton, not the Premier League trip to Tottenham the following Sunday.

“To clear up confusion, told Arne Slot will serve his one-match touchline ban in Carabao Cup match at Southampton on Wednesday and it won’t roll to next Premier League game,” says the reporter.
“He should be back in the dugout for Tottenham away.”
Who will manage Liverpool instead?
Managerial cautions appear to be becoming more commonplace in the Premier League these days.
If even a mild-mannered coach like Slot can accumulate a touchline ban, then what hope do the rest of them have?
In the meantime, though, the 46-year-old’s absence will give the rest of the Liverpool coaching staff the chance to step up at Southampton.
Given that he is Slot’s long-time number two, it seems most likely that Sipke Hulshoff will be the man who shoulders the responsibility of media duties and relaying messages to the Liverpool squad.
Hulshoff has stayed in the background throughout the season so far, so it’ll be great to finally see the former Feyenoord coach given his chance to shine.
