La Liga outfit looking to raid Chelsea and West Ham to bolster their midfield

Real Betis are eying a new midfielder in January and have set sights on former star Guido Rodriguez as well as Cesare Casadei.

According toFichajes, Real Betis are keen to raid the Premier League for two midfielders, Guido Rodriguez and Cesare Casadei. Both these stars might be made available for the right price, as the Spanish side are intent on trying their luck with these names.

Real Betis have had to run a tight ship financially and could continue to do so by finding cheaper solutions to solve their squad problems. Manuel Pellegrini is eager to strengthen a number of areas, including central midfield, as two names from the Premier League have been mentioned.

Former star Guido Rodriguez and Chelsea’s Cesare Casadei are Real Betis’ reported targets, with either carrying attributes that suit Pellegrini’s ideas. The West Ham star only joined on a free transfer back in the summer from Real Betis, as the feeling is that he’s not getting enough recognition or playing time at the London Stadium.

The latter may only be partially true, as he has not started the last four games in the Premier League. His potential departure, even for a modest fee, might entice the Hammers, although, on a deeper look, Julen Lopetegui does value his presence in the team. Hence, any move will depend on the offer Real Betis are able to make for their former star.

Meanwhile, Betis are also keen on Chelsea outcast Cesare Casadei, with the emerging midfielder barely getting a sniff in the Premier League. The Italian box-to-box midfielder has yet to play a single minute in the top flight but managed to get game time in the Conference League and other cup games.

Who will Real Betis sign?

As for Casadei, he does have interest from his native Italy, withJuventus one of those keen, while AC Milan is also interested. Hence, signing him will be difficult for Betis, especially when he can make the move to Serie A. The bigger question will be focused on Chelsea’s desire to part ways, as they view Casadei as a big part of their future project.

As for Rodriguez, he might prefer to make a return to betis and get back to familiar territory. Despite having played a lot of games for the Hammers, the Argentine is still being settled in England, meaning he might open the doors to a return to Seville.
