Nottingham Forest fans all say the same thing about remarkable Anthony Elanga vs Aston Villa

Nottingham Forest made an emphatic statement in their European challenge, beating Aston Villa 2-1 in the Premier League.

Forest’s win over Villa lifted them into fourth in the Premier League table, three points ahead of Aston Villa in sixth.

Such was the dramatic nature of Forest’s late equaliser, Evangelos Marinakis smashed a TV in the director’s box.

It was substitute Anthony Elanga who provided the unforgettable moment after Nikolas Milenkovic equalised with three minutes left in regulation time.

Elanga made such an impact from the bench that Forest fans took to social media to voice their praise for the winger after his goal.

Forest fans were very pleased to see Elanga back on form in the Forest squad, given his struggles so far this season. One fan said: “Elanga was amazing when he came on, really looked like the Elanga from last season”, whilst another added: “I hope this starts a good run of form for Elanga.”

Elanga’s stats highlight his crucial impact vs Aston Villa

In his 15 minutes on the pitch, Elanga only had 11 touches, with one being the crucial shot that secured the victory for Forest.

It was also his only touch in the Villa box, completing one pass into the final third as well. Before his goal, though, Elanga had nearly produced an equally impactful moment.

After being played in by Morgan Gibbs-White, Elanga cut the ball across for Chris Wood to tap home. The goal was eventually ruled out after an eventful VAR interference, but the clinical, decisive action highlighted that Elanga was in place to win the match for Forest as soon as he arrived on the pitch.
