Guardiola: We will remember this run when we’re back to our best

Pep Guardiola says City’s current run of form is making it clear just how difficult our sustained success in recent seasons has been.

The Catalan has led us to an incredible 18 honours in eight and a half years at the Etihad Stadium, including an era of unprecedented dominance of the Premier League – winning six of the last seven and four in a row.

However, it’s been a difficult couple of months for Guardiola’s side, winning just one of our last 10 games since the end of October.

Guardiola provides injury update

Speaking in his press conference ahead of Sunday’s Manchester derby, Guardiola stated that all at the club will remember this tough spell when we get back on top form.

“We have been the best,” he began.

“If we aren’t the best now it’s because we don’t have the players, otherwise we’d be close to Liverpool.

“Now it makes me realise how difficult it is what we’ve done and when we come back, wow we won’t forget those moments, because we want it and we do it.

“We don’t have a defence, we lost too many games and when that happens all the criticism is deserved but we have to understand the reason why.

“There are things I need to practice.

“When? Normally you have a game and day after it is recovery and the players who didn’t play before you have seven or eight, one player I have.”
