Linda Pizutti has reacted to Andy Robertson’s red card in Liverpool’s lively 2-2 draw with Fulham at Anfield. The Reds twice came from behind to earn a share of the spoils, despite having to play with 10 men for over 70 minutes.

Referee Tony Harrington oversaw a busy afternoon’s work as he handed out eight yellow cards - alongside Robertson’s red card - including one to Liverpool head coach Arne Slot.

Meanwhile the Premier League released two statements during the match, first explaining why Issa Diop wasn’t sent off for a knee-high challenge on Robertson and then confirming why the Scotland international was dismissed.

The Premier League would also clarify to the ECHO why Andreas Pereira was not dismissed for a late challenge on Ryan Gravenberch in the 2-2 draw, prior to the Brazilian opening the scoring.

Harrington was booed and jeered off the pitch by Liverpool supporters at the final whistle as the home crowd was left unimpressed with his display.

And Pizutti, wife of Reds principal owner John W. Henry, alluded to the referee’s performance when praising both Slot’s side and the Anfield crowd for fighting back against the odds to draw against Fulham.

“A lot of refereeing in this draw,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “When the red card came out, Anfield filled in with support, and Liverpool played hard and dominated until the final whistle.”
