Rice, Calafiori, White - Latest Arsenal injury news and return dates for Crystal Palace cup tie

Mikel Arteta has been handed a fresh Arsenal injury concern coming out of the Premier League draw with Everton. On Saturday, the Gunners failed to find the back of the net at Emirates Stadium for the first time in eight months with the chance to close the gap on Liverpool missed after they also dropped points.

Ahead of the game, a welcome injury boost arrived as Gabriel Magalhaes was deemed fit enough to make his return to the starting XI after a two-week absence. Riccardo Calafiori and Oleksandr Zinchenko were still among those missing however, while Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben White are the stars dealing with long-term issues.

With four players currently out injured, it looks as though Arteta may have a fifth absent for next week's Carabao Cup quarter-final against Crystal Palace back on home soil. It is also worth noting that goalkeeper Neto cannot feature having played in a previous round while still at Bournemouth.

Arteta revealed that Declan Rice was taken off just beyond the hour mark against Everton because of a niggling issue.

**What Arteta has said:** "With Declan I had to take him off because he was feeling something. He’s been with a little niggle for the last week and he asked to be taken off, so we have to do it."

### Riccardo Calafiori

**Injury:** Groin/knee.

Calafiori has been absent since coming off early in the 5-2 victory over West Ham. Arteta has given a number of updates on his condition, with it certainly sounding as though he is being impacted by a several different issues.

**What Arteta has said:** "We’re just respecting the times that the medical department has set. Then we monitor his evolution every single day. We understand he’s not fully ready yet, but he’s getting very close now."

### Ben White

**Injury:** Knee.

Having undergone a minor procedure in November, White is expected to be out of action until early 2025.

**What Arteta has said:** "Ben is going to be out for months. We had to make a decision in the last few weeks, unfortunately. It got to a point where we had to protect the player, and we decided to do the surgery."

### Oleksandr Zinchenko

Since coming into the starting XI against Manchester United, Zinchenko has missed out because of a new injury.

### Takehiro Tomiyasu

**Injury:** Knee.

Tomiyasu has been plagued by injury during the 2024/25 season which has meant he has played only seven minutes of Premier League football in the last six months.

**What Arteta has said:** "Tomiyasu is going to be out for a bit. He's going away for a few weeks to change his environment because it's been really tough for him. We're going to give him the best opportunity to try and unlock something, but I think we need to be patient."
