Report: Chelsea have no plans to sign£42m attacker in January despite Enzo Maresca loving his pace

With the transfer window opening next month, Enzo Maresca could soon have the chance to improve his Chelsea attack.

Right now, Chelsea probably have the best forward line in the Premier League. In the 15 games that the Blues have played so far this season, they have scored 35 goals.

However, that has not stopped them from being linked with attackers heading into January.

Enzo Maresca has been asked about Chelsea’s transfer plans, but the 44-year-old claimed that he was only thinking about his side’s upcoming fixtures.

Chelsea are not interested in Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi

Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi is one attacker who has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

It does not look like the 22-year-old will be joining Maresca’s team in the January transfer window, though.

According to GiveMeSport, Chelsea have no plans to pursue Adeyemi next month despite showing an interest in the German during the summer.

In October, it had been claimed that Chelsea made Adeyemi a top priority, but a switch to west London now looks unlikely.

What Enzo Maresca appreciates about Karim Adeyemi

Maresca can be more than satisfied with his current attacking options. The Chelsea boss has the likes of Cole Palmer, Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke, who have all been in great form this season.

That being said, it appears that he still appreciates Adeyemi’s talent. Last month, it was reported that Maresca is a fan of Adeyemi’s pace.

According to Tutto Juve, Dortmund value the Germany international at £42m, so he would not have cost Chelsea too much money either.

But given all of the attacking talent that the Blues have, they probably do not need Adeyemi or another wide man.

What Chelsea could perhaps do with is an experienced central defender, especially with Wesley Fofana picking up another injury. Such a signing in January could make the difference for them in this season’s title race.
