Leicester City lost for the first time under Ruud van Nistelrooy after a 4-0 defeat away to Newcastle United.
The Foxes churned out their worst performance of the Van Nistelrooy era as a Jacob Murphy brace was followed up by goals from Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes.
There was some controversy as Leicester fans felt Guimaraes should’ve been sent off in the first half, while Leicester confirmed Mads Hermansen had injured his groin in the first half.
Two stars who were watching on from afar were Premier League legends Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker and both had plenty to say about their two teams.

Gary Lineker reveals Alan Shearer’s text messages after Newcastle’s heavy win against Leicester
As per usual, Lineker was hosting Match of the Day where he and the two pundits, Theo Walcott and Ashley Williams dissected what happened at St James’ Park.
Shearer wasn’t part of the team but Lineker admitted he was relieved not to have the Newcastle legend in the studio after he’d been “gloating all afternoon”.
“All I can say is thank heaven Alan Shearer is not here,” the Leicester legend joked.
“He’s not been happy with his team lately but he was today.

“I know because he was texting me all afternoon gloating, like he does. But he’s right. They were very good.”
Who are Leicester City’s next five fixtures against
Van Nistelrooy won’t want to reflect on the heavy defeat for too long as the Foxes return to action next week to commence a run of busy fixtures.
Next Sunday will see Leicester face relegation rivals Wolves, who could be under new management after Gary O’Neil’s side were beaten again.
The following three games then see the East Midlanders take on Liverpool, Manchester City and Aston Villa before beginning their FA Cup campaign against Queens Park Rangers.
It will be a period that could make or break the club’s season and if Leicester are able to string a few results together, they could pull themselves away from the bottom three of the Premier League.
