Change is happening at Molineux as Wolves manager Gary O’Neil has been dismissed.
After 16 months in charge, the Old Gold have pulled the plug on O’Neil’s project according to multiple reports after a dreary start to the 2024/25 campaign.
Wolves’ struggles go far deeper than this season, as the dire form from the latter stages of last term has not shifted.
Ultimately, it was the disastrous defeat to fellow strugglers Ipswich Town which led to his dismissal, with a last minute goal sealing a 2-1 win for the newly-promoted side at Molineux.
In his first season, O’Neil implemented an attractive style of football to his highly-talented squad however, such quality was unable to be maintained.
Once again, it’s back to the drawing board for Fosun and Jeff Shi, with another manager set to be hired.

Gary O’Neil sacked by Wolves after 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town
Having seen Wolves lose in rather horrible fashion to Bournemouth, Everton and West Ham United recently, the Molineux faithful were expecting a much-improved performance in a relegation six-pointer against Ipswich.
What they got, however, was yet another defeat.
The Black Country side allowed their defensive deficiencies to rear their ugly head once again in an opportune moment on Saturday, seeing Jack Taylor score a 94th minute winner for Ipswich from a corner kick.

The loss proved to be the final straw for the Wolves board, who had previously seemed to be on the brink of firing O’Neil earlier in the season when his side lost a whopping six straight games between mid-September and late October.
Who could take over as Wolves’ next manager after Gary O’Neil dismissal
Now that the news is out, the hunt is underway for the Old Gold to identify O’Neil’s successor.
Former West Ham United manager David Moyes has been listed as a potential next Wolves manager, having been out of a job since leaving London Stadium following the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.
Thanks to his noted ability to steady the ship at previous clubs and, most importantly, tighten up struggling defences, Moyes would certainly be a popular appointment among the Molineux faithful.
TBR has also recently reported that current Luton Town boss Rob Edwards is also a candidate for the Wolves job.
