It was a good day to be a Newcastle United fan yesterday after the lads carved out a 4-0 home win in which they absolutely dominated a poor Leicester City side.
A 4-0 scoreline looks impressive, for sure, but the truth is, it could and should have been way more. Newcastle had 27 attempts on goal, 11 of which were on target compared to the Foxes one on target from three attempts.
Alexander Isak and Jacob Murphy will both have been wondering how they didn't come away fighting over the match ball after missing some gilt-edged chances.
It was a huge wake-up call for Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who had enjoyed an unbeaten start to life as Leicester box until he came to the North East.

Miguel Almiron could get a chance to stay in the Premier League if he leaves Newcastle
Did Ruud Van Nistelrooy tell Miguel Almiron to keep his phone on?
However, an eagled-eyed Guardian reporter noted something in his match review that suggests that Van Nistelrooy wasn't planning on leaving St James' Park empty-handed.
"Van Nistelrooy meanwhile has much to ponder. Perhaps significantly, at the final whistle Leicester’s manager drifted over to Miguel Almirón, an unused home substitute earmarked for a January exit, and whispered something in the ear of the initially rather startled‑looking but subsequently beaming Paraguay forward."
Could Ruud have been having a word with Miggy to say he'll give him a bell in January? Could we finally be about to see the Paraguayan leave Newcastle?

Miggy would skip into that Leicester City side on yesterday's showing
After watching on from the bench yesterday, Almiron must be thinking he could walk into that Leicester side, and in truth, he would definitely add something they didn't have yesterday - work rate.
Whatever you think about Almiron as a player, you can never doubt his commitment to the cause. The lad covers every blade of grass every time he's out there.
It's way past time he was moved on, however, and maybe he's just been offered a chance to stay in the Premier League if he were to leave Newcastle in January.
