Premier League club Wolves have sacked their head coach Gary O’Neil after Saturday’s 1-2 home defeat to Ipswich Town, according to reports.
The costly result against their relegation rivals leaves Wolves 19th in the table – second bottom – on just nine points after 16 games.
Ugly scenes broke out after the full-time whistle at Molineux with Wolves’ Rayan Ait-Nouri sent off in the tunnel for clashing with Wes Burns, while his teammate Matheus Cunha was seen fighting with Ipswich’s security team.
Wolves have now decided to make a change and have parted ways with O’Neil, The Guardian reported on Sunday morning.
The West Midlands-based club have won only two out of 16 league games this term under the management of O’Neil.
The 41-year-old, who previously managed AFC Bournemouth in the top-flight, took the Wolves job in August 2023, replacing Julen Lopetegui.
Wolves will now begin the search for his replacement as they fight to keep their spot in the top flight of English football.
