Official: Barcelona announce squad list to face Leganes

Hansi Flick has announced his squad for tonight’s match against Leganes.

The manager has almost all of his players available, with a few exceptions due to long-term injuries. Andreas Christensen is still recovering and will return in January, while Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Marc Bernal are also out for the time being.

Additionally, despite earlier reports suggesting he could feature, Ansu Fati will not be part of the squad. The youngster trained with the team yesterday, but he has not yet received the all-clear from the medical staff to play.

Rotation likely

With a nearly full squad, Flick has the flexibility to rotate his players, especially as some of them have had a heavy workload recently. This means the likes of Raphinha and Dani Olmo among others could get some rest.

This match serves as an opportunity for the coach to manage his squad before an important fixture. Barcelona’s next match is against Atletico Madrid on December 21, which is crucial for maintaining their position at the top of the league standings.

One player who is set to get his first minutes of the season is Ronald Araujo. After recovering from a serious muscle injury, Araujo is ready to make his return to action.

Flick confirmed that the defender will feature in the match, although it remains unclear whether he will start or come on during the second half.

Regardless, his inclusion will be an important boost for Barcelona as they look to continue their strong form in both domestic and European competitions.
