Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca is ready to send Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall out on loan in the January transfer window, according to a report.
Dewsbury-Hall joined Chelsea from Leicester City in the summer of 2024. The midfielder cost £30 million in transfer fees (The Mirror).
Maresca played a key role in the deal. The Italian was in charge of Leicester last season, and Dewsbury-Hall flourished under him.
After Maresca left Leicester for Chelsea last summer, Dewsbury-Hall followed him to Stamford Bridge.
However, according to a report in The Mirror, Maresca is now ready to send Dewsbury-Hall out on loan in the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old midfielder has struggled for playing time at the Blues. Leicester have already reportedly registered interest in bringing him back to the King Power Stadium on a loan deal.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was always going to struggle at Chelsea
It was never ever going to be easy for Dewsbury-Hall to make an immediate impact at Chelsea.
After all, the midfielder was playing in the Championship last season. A move to a club like Chelsea who are used to challenging for the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League was always going to be a big jump.
There is also intense competition for places in the Chelsea midfield. There is no surprise that Dewsbury-Hall has made only 14 appearances for the Blues this season. The midfielder has not made a single start in the Premier League so far this season.
Leicester have a new manager in charge now. Under Ruud van Nistelrooy, the Foxes will be determined to escape the dreaded drop to the Championship.
