Wolves have sacked Gary O’Neil with the defeat to Ipswich Town proving to be the final straw.
Fosun had been desperate for O’Neil to turn things around, but Saturday’s defeat at Molineux has shown them he is not the man for the job.
Many felt O’Neil should have been sacked weeks ago, with a number of people pointing to the Brentford game as when he should have gone.
Some Wolves fans think the decision to sack O’Neil may have come too late. But we’ll see who comes in, and how they use the January transfer window.
Despite this being the right decision, it still comes as somewhat of a shock.
Because just days ago, Jeff Shi backed O’Neil publicly, and one comment he made just looks ridiculous now.

After the defeat to West Ham, many felt sure O’Neil would go.
But O’Neil was given the Ipswich game, and there was a claim that he would even get foreseeable fixtures.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
Then after that, Jeff Shi penned a column in the E&S, in which he backed O’Neil – which obviously now looks laughable.
He said: “But because of that (Julen Lopetegui leaving), the destiny of Gary O’Neil and Wolves met at an unexpected moment, and I remain grateful to Gary for stepping into such a demanding situation just days before the beginning of a new season, and for his commitment to the club every day since then.
“While he knows that improving our results quickly is essential for everyone associated with the football club, we are united in supporting him as all of us strive to make that progress happen.”
Fans would love Jeff Shi to follow Gary O’Neil out of Wolves
Fans will not be surprised that Jeff Shi has been left with egg on his face over this situation.
The chairman took a massive risk putting that column out in midweek, and it has now come back to bite him.
Somehow, his reputation has sunk even lower, and at this point the vast majority of Wolves fans want him to follow O’Neil out of the club.
He is an extremely unpopular figure at Molineux for his part in the club’s downfall, and hopefully, something will soon prompt him and Fosun to get out.
