Wolves have announced the sacking of Gary O’Neil after the Old Gold’s defeat to Ipswich Town.
It’s a horrendous time for Wolves, who have parted ways with O’Neil after 16 months in charge at Molineux.
O’Neil leaves with one of the worst managerial records, departing when the club sit 19th in the table.
Wolves fans had lost all trust in O’Neil, with the final nail in the coffin being the Midlands club’s 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town.

Wolves plan to hire a new head coach before Leicester City
Wolves sounded out managerial candidates during the November international break, contacting five figures.
Still, the club are presumed to be no closer to hiring a new coach however, such could be resolved in the near future.
That’s according to journalist Liam Keen, who took to X to report what the club plans to do ahead of the Premier League clash with Leicester City.
“Expecting all of Gary O’Neil’s backroom staff to be sacked too,” Keen said.

“Wolves are planning to appoint a new head coach before the trip to Leicester coming up.”
The Foxes have already experienced a change at the helm this season, welcoming Ruud van Nistelrooy to replace Steve Cooper.
Sunday’s fixture could represent a meeting between two newly appointed managers, as per Keen’s understanding of the situation.

Wolves are the third club to sack a manager in the Premier League during the 2024/25 calendar, following Cooper’s exit and Erik ten Hag’s goodbye at Manchester United.
On the subject of the Red Devils comes a possible replacement at Molineux, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was spotted at Molineux on Saturday afternoon.
A fan photographed the former United boss watching on from the stands as Wolves lost to Ipswich, which is now rather interesting given the development emerging at the top.
Could Solskjaer be the answer to Wolves’ issues? That’s yet to be determined in what is set to be a week of major change at Molineux.
