The agent of Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio has revealed that his client snubbed Liverpool last summer before moving to Turin.
The Reds had been linked with several goalkeepers during Arne Slot's first window in charge of the club following significant transfer interest in their number-two stopper Caoimhin Kelleher.
Di Gregorio, who had dazzled during a lengthy spell with Monza, was reportedly among their preferred targets, with his agent, Carlo Alberto Belloni, now confirming Liverpool's interest in the Italian goalkeeper.
Speaking to Tuttosport after Juve's recent 2-0 victory over Manchester City, Belloni revealed: "We said no to Liverpool in the summer to join the Juventus project.

"He's working hard to improve continuously. He set up a gym at home so he can train on his days off. He has an incredible mentality, and his desire is to be part of a Juventus side that rewrites history and wins important trophies."
Di Gregorio has impressed in a defiant Juventus defence this season, keeping seven clean sheets in 11 Serie A matches and a further two shutouts in the Champions League during recent meetings with Aston Villa and Man City.
Liverpool missed out on Di Gregorio over the summer but still recruited a new goalkeeper in exciting Georgian Giorgi Mamardashvili. They signed the 24-year-old for £29.6m before sending him back to Valencia on loan for the season.
In the end, Kelleher also stayed put at Anfield and has been regularly called upon this season following a long-term injury for first-choice stopper Alisson. The Reds currently boast two of the best in the business and have another arriving next summer.
