Sandro Tonali’s reaction to Newcastle’s opener against Leicester City on Saturday seemed to confirm his commitment to the Magpies, despite recent transfer reports in Italy.

Tonali’s Newcastle secured a comfortable 4-0 Premier League win over Leicester City on Saturday.

Earlier this week, Gazzetta had suggested that the ex-Milan midfielder was unhappy at his club, so he was seeking a return to Serie A.

A few hours later, his agent, Beppe Riso, denied that his client was unhappy and wanted to leave, and Tonali’s celebration of Newcastle’s first goal yesterday appeared to confirm his commitment.

The Italian midfielder energetically shouted towards the stands after Jacob Murphy had opened the account, prompting a few Newcastle fans on social media to suggest the ex-Milan star didn’t look unhappy.

Newcastle honoured Tonali after the final whistle by posting a picture of the Italian star and writing “Magnifico.”
