Ramsdale, 26, has been unavailable since Southampton's 2-0 defeat at Wolves, having fractured his finger in the first half at Molineux.
Ramsdale has continued to train at Staplewood but has naturally been restricted from using his hand due to his injury.
The former Arsenal goalkeeper had initially hoped to return for the home game against Spurs, but his finger had not fully recovered.
Speaking on TNT Sports, Ramsdale explained: “The finger is getting more bendy, it’s getting there. It was too soon (for me to be back) for this game.

“I’m looking forward to next week. We have two games that I’m hoping to be involved in. It’s about making sure it’s fixed properly.
“Making sure it doesn’t get injured again is the main priority. I missed out on the first two camps, I was desperate to get back in.
“It’s been very tough watching the boys. Coming down here to try and impact things on the pitch, it’s been tough.
“I’ve been able to train with the boys, using my feet. I’ve been on the grass. But my job is as a goalkeeper.”
Southampton had only picked up one point, away at Brighton, since losing Ramsdale to injury after Wolves.
Asked how the group have handled the poor form, the goalkeeper insisted the group are still together, behind Russell Martin.
“The lads are top draw. We have not lost faith in anything. We’ve definitely not lost faith in the manager. It’s about the fine details. We have been unlucky in certain games.”
