Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford posted a four-word message on social media celebrating their dramatic win over rivals Manchester City.

The 27-year-old was the big talking point ahead of United's showdown with Pep Guardiola's side as new head coach Ruben Amorim made the bold decision to drop the academy graduate and Alejandro Garnacho from the squad.

United laboured in the opening 60 minutes against their city rivals and found themselves behind after Josko Gvardiol's header in the first-half. It looked like it would be a third straight Premier League defeat for Amorim when Bruno Fernandes raced through before firing wide.

However, Amad inspired the comeback, first pouncing on a loose backpass from Matheus Nunes before the Portuguese midfielder brought the attacker down in the penalty area - with Fernandes equalising from the spot. In stoppage time, Amad raced behind the City back four and finished well to complete a dramatic comeback.

Rashford posted on his Instagram immediately after the full-time whistle, writing: "Yesssssssss! Love it lads," with two red heart emojis from his home.

The win moved United to within six points of the Champions League places, with City missing out on the opportunity to reduce their deficit to league leaders Liverpool by the same margin. The hosts collapse compounded a miserable run for Guardiola's men - picking up just one win in their last 11 games, leaving them outside the top four.

Former United defender Gary Neville sang the praises of the match-winner, Amad, after the important win. He said: "He's class on the pitch Amad and he's class off the pitch.

"He's just gone and shook the hands of every City player in a genuine way."
