Amad reaction immediately after final whistle sums up newest Man Utd hero

Amad sought out Pep Guardiola and other Manchester City players after scoring the winner in the Manchester derby

Manchester United matchwinner Amad showed his class by seeking out every Manchester City player to shake hands after his last-gasp goal.

The Ivorian winger was the key player for Ruben Amorim's side in their big win at The Etihad. He drew the foul for United's equaliser - with Bruno Fernandes converting from the penalty spot - before he was on hand to secure a dramatic victory at the death.

And while it would be understandable for the youngster to let the celebrations get the better of him, he showed his humble nature immediately after the final whistle. Instead of getting caught up in the celebrations, Amad shook the hand of every City player and Pep Guardiola.

Gary Neville was full of praise for the 22-year-old for his actions. He said: "Class on the pitch, class off it", during Sky Sports' commentary. It was certainly not the first time that the United icon had praised the Red Devils' match-winner.

He also hailed him for his performance and his finish in scoring the winning goal. Neville said: "It is bedlam in that far corner and on the Manchester United bench. Amad what have you just done? An absolute shining light.

"What must Pep Guardiola be thinking? Amad has been sensational - the only Manchester United player to look like a Manchester United player. The touch is perfect and the finish - Gvardiol maybe could have cleared it but take nothing away from Amad."

Neville was not the only one to praise Amad for his performance. United captain Fernandes also waxed lyrical about the youngster.

Speaking after United's dramatic win, he said: "He has been doing well, he has been doing great things and there is a still a lot to come from him.

"He showed again today he is always alive. That is why he gets the penalty, why he gets the goal. He has been brilliant. When he is like this he is unstoppable.

"I just want him to keep working, that is what he has been doing. It is great what he did today but I am sure he can do this every week. We want this week in, week out. He is now getting his chances, deservedly."

Amad now has four goals and seven assists in all competitions across what is turning into a very impressive season. United and Amad will be aiming to take their performances into the Manchester derby into their next few games. The Red Devils take on Premier League rivals Tottenham in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals next week. They then host Bournemouth at Old Trafford before Christmas.
