Arsenal and Newcastle United are both plotting a raid on West Ham United for the services of Ghanaian attacking star Mohammed Kudus.
According to a report from the Mirror, Arsenal and Newcastle United are all interested in the services of Mohammed Kudus who has been doing wonders for West Ham United since moving to the Premier League.
Kudus made a name for himself at Ajax before securing a £38 million move to the Hammers in the summer of 2023. He has hardly had any problems in adjusting to life in England. In his 57 matches for the Irons, the 24-year-old right winger has 16 goals and eight assists.
The former Ajax star has been one of the standout players for the London club. While he prefers playing out wide on the right flank, Kudus can start anywhere in attack. His ability to create as well as score makes him a special talent and multiple top clubs are after his services.
The Ghanaian international’s contract at the English club runs until the summer of 2028 but that doesn’t guarantee his continuity at the club. With Arsenal and Newcastle United both keen on his signature, the 24-year-old could end up taking the next step in his career in the near future.
The Gunners want to add more firepower to their attack. Mikel Arteta wants to bring in someone who can cover for Bukayo Saka and Kudus has all the qualities to help them. He can even feature in multiple other positions which will offer the Spanish manager great tactical options.
Newcastle to rival Arsenal for Kudus
Newcastle are the ones who are ready to compete with the Gunners for the services of the £90 million-rated West Ham star. While people at the Tyneside club are massive fans of the young winger and they would love to sign him, their financial situation will complicate things.
The Magpies will have to make a few sales in January to ensure they can afford the signing of Kudus. Despite having sold Elliot Anderson (£35m) and Yankuba Minteh (£30m) in the summer, Newcastle still need to keep their finances in check which will complicate things.
While his contract has an £85 million release clause which will be active in the summer, the Hammers want £90 million to sanction his departure mid-season.
