**Enzo Maresca continues to insists that his Chelsea side are not yet ready to challenge for the Premier League title.**
Chelsea moved within two points of league leaders Liverpool with [**a 2-1 west London derby win against Brentford**](https://www.westlondonsport.com/chelsea/chelsea-v-brentford-report-151224).
However, the Blues boss felt the late goal his side conceded, scored by Bryan Mbeumo, was further proof that the title won’t be coming to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Maresca said: “No matter how many games we win, I think we are not ready to compete for the title.
“One reason why is I think that teams that know how to compete for the title are not going to concede the goal we conceded.
“This is one of the reasons why I continue to say we are not ready to win titles even if you don’t believe me.
“I told you many times that I would love the pressure to compete for titles, but we are not ready.
“We cannot concede the goal we conceded and open the game and give them the chance to take something.
“You can talk about the title, the fans can dream, absolutely. I tell you what I think and you can think differently.
“No matter how many games we win, we are not ready. But we are happy.”
Maresca added that Joao Felix and Romeo Lavia could return for next weekend’s game against Everton after both missed out against Brentford because of injury.
