Ange Postecoglou has told us he hopes Destiny Udogie’s injury ‘isn’t too bad’ after the full-back was forced off 28 minutes into our 5-0 win at Southampton on Sunday night.
Destiny, whose raids forward were a feature as we went 4-0 up before his departure, went down after making his contribution to the fourth goal and was reported to have felt a bit tight in his quad muscle. He was replaced by Pedro Porro, with Djed Spence switching to left-back on his first start in the Premier League.

Speaking on our Review Show at St Mary’s, Ange said on Destiny: “Hopefully it’s not too bad. Actually, he wanted to continue, we’re down to the bare bones at the moment, so it was a pretty easy decision to take him off.”
Asked about the Italy international later in his press conference, Ange said: “We'll see how he is. He felt a bit tight in his quad. To be fair, he wanted to continue, but we can't take any risks at the moment. So, we took him off with Sonny. I don't think it's anything significant at this stage and more precautionary.”
