Former Everton midfielder Dele Alli could now be set for a new chapter in football.
The 28-year-old has had a tough past few years, after bursting onto the scene at MK Dons and then really making his name at Tottenham Hotspur.
After joining Spurs, Dele was named the PFA Young Player of the Year for two seasons running, and he looked all set to be a top Premier League player for years to come.
He also seemed like he’d be the player England would build around.
But Dele’s form took a huge dip from around 2019 onwards for several reasons. Fans have hoped to see Dele get back to the player of old and in January 2022, he made a move to Everton.
Sadly we never saw the Dele of old make a reappearance at Goodison Park, and his contract with the club expired in the summer of 2024.
Kevin Thelwell and Sean Dyche were both open to Dele signing a new contract at Everton if he could prove his fitness, but he’s sadly been unable to do so.
Dele has continued to train with Everton, but now it now looks as though he’s set for a new adventure.

It’s been reported by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio that Dele Alli is now set to start training with Serie A side Como.
Dele was reportedly spotted in the city today, and was apparently also present at the Sinigaglia stadium to watch Como in action against AS Roma.
And Dele will have been pleased to see his prospective new side get a 2-0 win, thanks to goals from Alessandro Garbrielloni and Nico Paz, with both goals coming in injury-time.

Di Marzio reports that there have been contacts between player and club, and that there is now a real possibility for Dele to start training with the club.
Dele’s last appearance in a competitive game came over 18 months ago when he was on loan at Besiktas, with the star having suffered several injuries which have prevented him from making a return to the pitch.
Fans will wish Dele all the best
Everton fans – and supporters all around the world for that matter – will wish Dele all the best if he does indeed train with and then join Como.
During the early years of his career, Dele was absolutely unplayable at times and was arguably one of the very best goalscoring midfielders in the world.
Most people are aware of the issues he’s had, and many fans would love nothing more than to see Dele just enjoying his football again and making a good impact for a team.
It didn’t work out for him at Everton, but Toffees fans are fond of him and will wish him all the best.
Dele scored a wonderful goal in Everton training recently, leading Ben Godfrey to react with a heart emoji, and hopefully, he’ll be scoring regularly in such a way for Como in 2025.
