Troy Deeney has issued a warning to Arsenal and Manchester United over Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres, stating that he's "not a natural finisher".
The Swedish striker has become a hot property in world football following his impressive goal-scoring record of 69 goals in 74 appearances since his move from Coventry City to Sporting in 2023.
His performances have attracted interest from the likes of United, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona. However, despite his prolific scoring record, ex-Watford forward Deeney has advised the two English clubs against signing Gyokeres anytime soon, reports [the Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-manutd-warning-striker-transfer-34317716).
"You know when you say something the clip is going to come back in six months," he told [talkSPORT.](https://talksport.com/football/2378039/troy-deeney-viktor-gyokeres-record-arsenal-man-united-transfer/) "I genuinely think he's a good footballer, he works really hard, all of that. But I don't think he's a natural finisher.
"And again, everyone is going to pull up his goal record, I get that. But I don't think he takes either of those two to winning the Premier League. That's just my opinion, and if he did, they'd have already bought him."
United manager Ruben Amorim and Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta are both in desperate need of a reliable striker, as evidenced by the inconsistent performances from United's £72m man Rasmus Hojlund and the weight on Bukayo Saka's shoulders to score goals for the Gunners.
Amidst the ongoing transfer rumours linking him with a move to Old Trafford under Amorim—who previously extracted top performances from him—striker Gyokeres has been quoted stating: "Going with Amorim to Man United? I don't know, I'm here.
"I really like being here, it's not something I think about. I'm enjoying it here. I'm sad about him leaving. We wish him all the best."
