Inter Milan defender snubs Arsenal’s advances yet again: Reports

Inter Milan wing back Federico Dimarco has been on Arsenal’s radar for quite some time now, with manager Mikel Arteta a believer that the Italian can fit in his system. However, as per reports from the Daily Cannon, the player has rejected advances made by the north Londoners as he reaffirms his commitment to the Nerazzurri.

Arteta’s switch to a system that uses an inverting left back rather than a traditional full back three years ago was a major reason for them scouting Dimarco. The player has exceptional positional awareness, crossing ability, game sense and also great physical capability. He is capable of contributing both offensively and defensively, and is hence highly-rated at the Emirates Stadium.

However, Inter refused to entertain any business with Arsenal in the past, citing that Dimarco is their very own product who has come up through the ranks in their youth system. Now, the player himself has repaid the faith shown by Inter, reaffirming fans and the club of his dedication to the badge and his desire to stay put.

Born in November 1997, Federico Dimarco joined Inter Milan’s youth academy in 2004, spending 11 years of his early life representing the club at various youth levels. He broke into the senior team in 2014, but needed multiple loan spells to develop.

He spent loan spells at Ascoli, Empoli, Parma and Hellas Verona, with a one-year spell at Sion in between as well. However, he only began rising to prominence towards the end of 2021, and became a mainstay in Inter Milan’s squad the following season.

Dimarco has since established himself as an irreplaceable asset for Simone Inzaghi and his Inter team, becoming one of the first names on the team sheet. He has made 155 senior appearances for the club, scoring 16 goals and providing 27 assists as well.
