The West Ham United players have been put through their paces in training over the past few days.

West Ham travel to the south coast to take on Bournemouth on Monday night, and Julen Lopetegui faces the sack if his side lose the game.

The Cherries have been sensational at times this season, and they will undoubtedly represent a really strong challenge for the Hammers.

The win against Wolves last week did little to lift the mood at the London Stadium, although the West Ham players have been in fine spirits in training this week.

They will have to be on top form against Bournemouth in order to get a result.

The Cherries have already beaten Arsenal and Tottenham and home and drew with Manchester City.

Maybe it’s time for Lopetegui to make a bold call with his starting lineup. Let’s face it, what he’s done so far this season hasn’t worked has it!

Lopetegui and his staff oversaw a high octane training session at Rush Green on Saturday morning.

MORE WEST HAM STORIES

And whilst the usual suspects were at the forefront of the photos on the West Ham website, one rarely seen Hammer took part in the session as well.

The player was spotted in photo number six out of 14, and you can see him in action by clicking on the Hammers official website linked just above.

Luis Guilherme arrived at West Ham from Palmeiras in the summer for around £25 million.

However, he has only played 11 minutes senior action so far, costing the Hammers more than £2 million per minute!

Now, I don’t expect Guilherme to start against Bournemouth, but I think he should get a proper chance tonight, maybe 20 minutes or so.

The young Brazilian arrived at the London Stadium with a huge reputation, and Tim Steidten was desperate to win the race for his signature.

So there must be something special about the 18-year-old.

Is’t it about time he was given a proper chance to shine? Luis Guilherme definitely has the unpredictability that we’ve really lacked this season.

The fact that the teenager was taking part in West Ham training so rigorously means to me that he may well feature at some point against Bournemouth.
