Wolverhampton Wanderers are close to appointing Vitor Pereira as their next head coach, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Last week, Wolves decided to part ways with Gary O’Neil after a poor run of results. The club made the decision following their 2-1 defeat against Ipswich Town on Saturday in the Premier League.
Wolves have wasted no time in finding their next manager, and they have turned to Jorge Mendes again to pull them out of this tough situation.
Romano now claims thatPereira is close to becoming Wolves’ new head coach, and the deal is almost done.
He has a release clause in his contract at Al Shabab, and Wolves are going to pay that. Romano says the deal will be signed shortly.

Three reasons why Vitor Pereira would be a smart appointment
There are plenty of managers out there who are out of work at the moment, but Wolves probably would struggle to lure them to Molineux.
David Moyes and Graham Potter would undoubtedly bring their rich Premier League experience to the club, but considering Wolves’ financial situation, it would be too risky for them to take charge.
Pereira wants to manage a Premier League side
The 56-year-old Portuguese boss was one of the contenders proposed by Mendes after the Fosun takeover.
According to a report from The Athletic, he wants to manage a Premier League side, and Wolves can provide him with that opportunity.
West Bromwich Albion boss Carlos Corberan has been touted as an option, but Pereira, with his loads of experience, is a better choice.
Successful manager
Pereira has won league titles at Porto, Olympiacos and Shanghai SIPG, and his backroom staff are vastly experienced.
Having managed clubs in Brazil, Germany, Turkey, Greece, and Portugal, he must have good contacts worldwide and could bring refreshing ideas to the club that would benefit a team languishing in 19th place in the table.
He is a good communicator
Pereira can speak multiple languages, but most importantly, he speaks fluent English. Thus, he will be able to handle the UK press properly, as there will be no language barrier.
It also means he can get his messages across to his players very easily.
His first task will be to find a way to seal the leaky defence and get some wins to lift the atmosphere around the place.
