If Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson looked like a flop at one point, he certainly does not now.
Last season, Nicolas Jackson was often criticised for some of the chances that he missed. It is criticism that Jackson has actually welcomed, according to the player himself.
However, this term, there has not been any, as the 23-year-old has been in brilliant form.
Jackson scored in Chelsea‘s 2-1 win against Brentford on Sunday, his ninth goal of the Premier League campaign. It has now seen him overtake Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah in one area.

Nicolas Jackson has more non-penalty goals than Mohamed Salah
Since the beginning of the 2023/24 Premier League season, Jackson has scored 23 non-penalty goals, with his strike versus Brentford being his latest.
It is actually one more than what Salah has managed, showing that the Senegal international is up there with the division’s top forwards.
In fact, in the current campaign, Salah is just one of five players who have managed to outscore Jackson in the Premier League.

Can Nicolas Jackson outscore Mohamed Salah this season?
Salah already has four more goals than Jackson and is on penalties at Liverpool. The Egyptian is also a truly prolific forward, something that Jackson is still trying to become.
Simply put, there is probably little chance of Jackson outscoring Salah and challenging the 32-year-old and Haaland to the Premier League Golden Boot award.
The Chelsea star, however, still looks capable of reaching the 20-goal mark. And if he can do that, then that would be quite some achievement.
This is someone whom many considered a flop. But again, Jackson has proven to be anything but that as he continues to score goals for Enzo Maresca‘s side.
